Walt Whitman Bridge

 

Monday & Tuesday:

  • 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. -- 4 lanes to PA; 2 lanes to NJ
  • 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. -- 3 lanes to PA; 2 lanes to NJ

Wednesday:

  • 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. -- 3 lanes to PA; 3 lanes to NJ
  • 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. -- 2 lanes to PA; 3 lanes to NJ
  • 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. -- 3 lanes to PA; 2 lanes to NJ

Thursday:

  • 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. -- 4 lanes to PA; 2 lanes to NJ
  • 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. -- 3 lanes to PA; 2 lanes to NJ

Friday:

  • 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. -- 4 lanes to PA; 2 lanes to NJ

Commodore Barry Bridge

 

Monday-Saturday:

  • 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. -- 1 lane to NJ; 2 lanes to PA


Wide Load Restrictions
Effective Monday, October 13, 2025, there will be a Wide Load Restriction in place on the Commodore Barry Bridge. ALL oversized and overweight trucks are restricted from crossing the Commodore Barry Bridge in both directions until further notice.

Commodore Barry Bridge Painting Project
A significant, multi-year, $220-million rehabilitation project is now underway to preserve and enhance the Commodore Barry Bridge, a critical transportation link between Chester, PA and Bridgeport, NJ. In 2024, the bridge carried 15.1 million vehicles, averaging over 41,000 daily crossings. Slated for completion in early 2028, this extensive project aims to prevent steel deterioration and ensure the long-term safety and reliability of the bridge for years to come. Learn more.
