Ben Franklin Bridge Masonry Rehabilitation

Project Description
The project aims to rehabilitate the century-old masonry components of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, an iconic historic landmark. The work will focus on the anchorages, approach walls, piers, and abutments on both the Philadelphia and Camden sides, as well as the Philadelphia Plaza and the bridge's Administration Building. Key tasks include cleaning the granite facades, repairing cracked stones, and repointing mortar joints. These initiatives are designed to preserve the structure, extend the life of the granite, and ensure the bridge remains in a state of good repair. DRPA is undertaking this work with the goal of extending the life of the bridge for another 100 years.
