TRAFFIC TO BE BRIEFLY HALTED ON WALT WHITMAN BRIDGE ON JUNE 20 FOR VESSEL PASSAGE

Both lanes of travel to be temporarily stopped to allow passage of the Battleship New Jersey

The Walt Whitman Bridge will experience a temporary travel delay between 12:15 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, to allow the Battleship New Jersey to pass underneath.

A temporary halt of both eastbound and westbound travel is expected to last around 10 minutes. Traffic will reopen once the ship has passed. This closure is a safety precaution to eliminate driver distractions.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead, check traffic apps, and consider using the Ben Franklin Bridge as an alternative route.
