DRPA Police Officers Collect 5,000 Pounds of Food to Support the Community

 

The Delaware River Port Authority Police Department was honored to play a role in collecting over 5,000 pounds of food to support families in need within the local community.

In conjunction with the members of the Deptford Elks Lodge, approximately 3,000 pounds of food was initially dropped off to ease the burden of families in need.

On Saturday, October 14, officers gathered in Deptford to load the remaining 2,000 pounds of food into their vehicles and then delivered the contents to Panther Comics in Blackwood, New Jersey. The food was donated to the Food Bank of Pennsauken.

The initiative aims to provide assistance to those facing challenging times while also bolstering the community as a whole.

Thank you to all those involved who made the donation a reality including DRPA Officer Shawn Waters, Panther Comics owner Chris Keiper, Andy Pagano of the Deptford Elks, as well the Three 6 Nine Motorcycle Club.
