Daytime Work on I-76 Near Packer Avenue To Impact Travel For Several Weeks
As part of the Walt Whitman Bridge I-76 Corridor Rehabilitation project, lanes outages along I-76 in both directions in the area of the Packer Avenue overpass could impact travel for the next six weeks.
Starting November 1, work involving the sealing of the concrete overpass across Packer Avenue will occur. The work will be performed during daytime hours for approximately six weeks. Lane outages will be taken each day to perform the work.
In an effort to minimize the disruption to traffic, work in the eastbound lanes of I-76 will begin at 5 a.m. and will be completed between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Work in the westbound lanes will begin after the morning rush hour (approximately 9:30 a.m.) and will be completed by approximately 8 p.m.
During this phase of work, some ramps will be closed to perform this work. Detours will be set up to redirect traffic around the closed ramps.
Adjustments will be made to work hours or direction to minimize impact to traffic heading to the Sports Complex.
Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and seek an alternate route if necessary.
