I-76 Near Walt Whitman Bridge To Close For 20 Minute Intervals Between 10 P.M. On July 21 And 4 A.M. On July 22

Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-76 near the Walt Whitman Bridge will close to traffic for several 20-minute intervals between the hours of 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 and 4 a.m. on Thursday, July 22.

In addition, the ramp from Broad Street northbound to the Walt Whitman Bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 and 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 22.

The periodic closures are necessary to allow workers to remove an overhead sign gantry in the area of 10th Street and Darien Street. The sign gantry spans across both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-76.

The first 20-minute roadway closure in both directions is scheduled to begin at approximately 10 p.m. on July 21. The two other 20-minute closures will occur in the early morning hours on July 22.

Work is scheduled to be completed by 4:00 a.m. on July 22.

Variable message signs across the region will advise motorists about the closures and delays.

This work is related to the Walt Whitman Bridge Corridor Rehabilitation at I-76 project.
