BEN FRANKLIN BRIDGE TO BE AGLOW IN GOLD TO PAY TRIBUTE TO GEORGE FLOYD
Tonight, the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) will join other organizations in our region as we light the Ben Franklin Bridge gold in memory of George Floyd on the one-year anniversary of his murder.
The bridge will join numerous other landmarks throughout Philadelphia, including Boathouse Row, Philadelphia International Airport, Wells Fargo Center, Citizens Bank Park, and Lincoln Financial Field.
The Benjamin Franklin Bridge is an iconic suspension bridge connecting Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey. The bridge crosses the Delaware River and offers three modes of transportation -- vehicular, rail, and pedestrian. In 2020, nearly 30 million vehicles traveled the span.
The bridge’s lighting program acknowledges national holidays and promotes awareness of important issues, national campaigns, and local accomplishments.
