INSIDE DRPA & PATCO:
Jordan’s Slogan A Slam Dunk Winner For Authority Safety
"Safety is a full-time job -- don't make it a part-time practice."
The Delaware River Port Authority conducts an annual Safety Slogan contest and the above saying, submitted by DRPA Construction & Maintenance Mechanic Michael Jordan, was the winning entry this year.
The DRPA’s Central Safety & Health Committee’s Programs & Activities Subcommittee received 100 entries for the 2021 contest.
Jordan, who has been with the Authority for almost two years, was honored to win the contest and emphasized his dedication to safety at the DRPA.
"I take safety for myself and others very seriously," said Jordan.
For his creative efforts, Jordan will receive: a reserved parking space for one month, recognition on all Authority information flat screens, recognition at a future Authority Board Meeting and bragging rights for one year.
In addition, his winning slogan will be inducted into the Authority’s Safety Slogan Hall of Fame.
Jordan’s slogan serves as a reminder of our shared commitment to continue making employee safety and the safety of the public a top priority at the DRPA and PATCO.
Jordan, who has been in the construction field for 20 years, is married with two daughters -- Madison and Morgan.
"I hope that I can continue my journey and grow within the DRPA and hopefully spread some of my knowledge and safety experience I learned over the years with others in the DRPA," said Jordan.
