Periodic closures required for installation of sign structure

Traffic in the westbound (into PA) lanes on the Walt Whitman Bridge will close to traffic for several 20-minute intervals between the hours of 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3 and 4 a.m. on Thursday, February 4. The periodic closures are necessary to allow construction crews to install a sign structure.

The initial 20-minute closure will occur between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3. There will be several other 20-minute closures in the westbound lanes as crews work to install the sign structure. The work is scheduled to be completed by 4 a.m. on Thursday, February 4.

Eastbound lanes (into NJ) will not be impacted.

Recommended alternate routes:

  • Ben Franklin Bridge
  • Commodore Barry Bridge

Motorists are strongly advised to use the Ben Franklin Bridge or Commodore Barry Bridge during the closures. Variable message signs across the region will advise motorists about the closures and delays.
