DRPA Bridges to Resume Accepting Cash

All-electronic tolling ends; Cash toll lanes return at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 11

The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) has announced that it will reopen cash toll lanes on its four bridges which connect Pennsylvania with South Jersey starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 11. Toll collectors will return in toll lanes to accept cash toll payments on the Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Betsy Ross and Commodore Barry Bridges.

Motorists traveling through the cash toll lanes will notice additional safety measures that have been put in place, such as staff wearing face coverings and a protective plastic shield in the toll booth window. In addition, drivers are encouraged to wear a face covering as they travel through a cash toll lane.

The reopening of cash lanes follows a temporary all electronic (cash-less) tolling, which was implemented on March 26.

DRPA recommends motorists keep informed with the latest conditions at DRPA’s bridges by following the agency’s social media accounts and signing up for travel text alerts. Both provide timely alerts and advisory messages events affecting bridge travel such as travel restrictions, significant disruptions, motor vehicle crashes and hazardous conditions.
