Commodore Barry Bridge Painting Project Requires Road Closures in Chester

Beginning Monday, July 29, 2019, and lasting approximately 3 weeks, the westbound "Route 291 Chester Waterfront" exit and portions of 9th Street (Route 13) in Chester will be closed for bridge painting work.

A detour will be in place for the ramp closure and will direct motorists onto 9th Street in order to reach Flower Street to reach the Chester waterfront. (See red arrows). The 9th Street closure reduces the number of lanes from two in each direction to one. (See black arrows.)

Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and to excerise caution driving through the work zone.
