DRPA Announces Temporary Closures of Ben Franklin Bridge's Philadelphia Tunnels in Oct. & Nov.
The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) announced today that the Philadelphia tunnels at the Ben Franklin Bridge will each close for two weeks in October to allow the installation of permanent murals in the tunnels by Mural Arts Philadelphia. The closure dates are:
- 5th Street Vehicular Tunnel: Starting Monday, October 8, 2018 and continuously through Saturday, November 3, 2018, the tunnel will be closed to vehicles and bicycles. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to travel north on 5th Street during this time.
- Philadelphia Pedestrian Tunnel: Starting Monday, October 15, 2018 and continuously through Saturday, November 3, 2018, the tunnel will be closed to pedestrians.
