PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Betsy Ross Bridge will close to traffic for 15 minute intervals between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the nights of Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Wednesday, Dec. 28. The periodic closures are necessary to allow construction crews to install a sign gantry which spans all traffic lanes of the bridge on the Pennsylvania approach.

The periodic 15 minute closures will occur:

    (A total of 2 closure periods are expected between 10 p.m.-5 a.m.)

  • Wednesday, December 28 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday
    (A total of 2 closure periods are expected between 10 p.m.-5 a.m.)

In between each closure, the bridge will reopen to allow stopped traffic to cross. Motorists are advised to use the Ben Franklin Bridge as an alternate route. Variable message signs across the region will advise motorists about the closures and delays. In case of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled.
