Ben Franklin Bridge Closed Sunday July 29 From 6:45Am To 8:30AM
The Ben Franklin Bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic from approximately 6:45 AM– 8:30 AM on Sunday, July 29, 2012 to accommodate the 25th annual "Tour de Shore," an event that benefits local law enforcement charities.
Some of the charities that benefit from this event are the Daniel Faulkner Educational Grant Fund, the FOP Survivors Fund and the Police Athletic League of Philadelphia.
The 65 mile bike tour begins at 20th and Walnut in Philadelphia and ends at the Irish Pub in Atlantic City, NJ. An estimated 1,500 cyclists will cross the Ben Franklin Bridge on their way to the Jersey Shore.
The bicyclists will pause to assemble at 5th and Race Street in Philadelphia before proceeding over the Ben Franklin Bridge into South Jersey.
The PATCO High-Speed Line schedule will not be affected by the race.
