Ben Franklin Bridge June Lighting

DRPA CEO, John J. Matheussen, has announced the Ben Franklin Bridge on June 1-5 will have blue lighting to support the annual Badges of Honor 5K Run and Walk. The event was established to strengthen the relationship between Philadelphia’s Public Safety employees and the communities they serve. The proceeds are used to defray the expenses related to the death of heroes who have fallen in the line of duty. The 5K Race/Walk will take place at 9am in Fairmount Park.

The Ben Franklin Bridge will be lit in the colors of the rainbow for the Philadelphia Pride Weekend on June 11 and 12 and have the traditional red, white and blue lighting for Flag Day, June 14, and blue lighting for Father’s Day, June 21.

The patriotic red, white and blue lighting will also mark the 2011 Wawa Welcome America Celebration June 24 through July 4.

The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO. It owns the RiverLink Ferry.
