Walt Whitman Bridge Procedure Modified For Overweight And Wide Load Vehicle Permits

Effective 8am Thursday, June 24, 2010, the Delaware River Port Authority is implementing a change to its Overweight and Wide Load Permit process for the Walt Whitman Bridge.

Due to construction activities, vehicles will no longer be permitted to wait for a DRPA Police Escort in the  area between westbound I-76 and northbound I-676.
All Overweight and Wide Load permit vehicles will need to travel Northbound on I-676 to Exit 3/Morgan Boulevard, in Camden.  The vehicles should then take Morgan Boulevard to southbound I-676. The next step is taking Exit 2 (left handed exit) to the Walt Whitman Bridge (I-76 westbound) and wait in the pull over area on that ramp for a DRPA police escort.

This change will be in effect until further notice.

The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation and development agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
