Ben Franklin Bridge May Lighting

Delaware River Port Authority CEO, John J. Matheussen, has announced the Ben Franklin Bridge in May will have special lighting to support the annual Multiple Sclerosis (MS) walk and celebrate May Day, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and Temple University’s Alumni Weekend.  

May Day is May 1st so the bridge will be lit in the traditional colors of the rainbow to celebrate the day.

The bridge will have orange lighting on May 2nd to mark the annual MS walk.

On May 9th, Mothers Day, the bridge will have magenta lighting.

Then from May 12th to the 15th  the bridge will have red lighting to help celebrate Temple University’s Alumni Weekend. Temple is the 28th largest university in the United States and is known for its programs in law, education, media, business, health sciences, architecture and music.

From May 29th to the 31st, Memorial Day weekend, the bridge will have its patriotic red, white and blue lighting. 

The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency.  DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, PATCO and the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal.  The DRPA also owns the RiverLink Ferry.
