DRPA Names Chief Operating Officer

The Delaware River Port Authority Board of Commissioners today named Timothy M. Pulte, former President and Partner of the commercial real estate firm, GVA Smith Mack, to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Pulte’s responsibilities will include the daily operations of DRPA’s four bridges, the RiverLink Ferry System and the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal. His annual salary will be $180,081. Mr. Pulte fills a position formerly held by Elizabeth Murphy who resigned in August of 2007.

“Mr. Pulte comes to the Authority at a time when we are about to embark on major capital improvement projects,” says DRPA Chairman John Estey. “His experience in project management and budgeting will be an asset to the Authority.”
Mr. Pulte has spent the past three years with GVA Smith Mack of Wayne, Pa., serving as Executive Managing Director before being promoted to President and Partner. During his time at GVA Smith Mack he was responsible for property management, project management, brokerage, business development and capital markets.

In 2003, he joined Pulte Homes of Connecticut as a Land Acquisition Manager and in 2004 was named Vice President of Land Acquisition. Prior to 2003, he held key positions at commercial real estate firms including GMH Capital Partners/College Park Communities and Grubb & Ellis.

“We are pleased to have Mr. Pulte on board,” says DRPA CEO John J. Matheussen. “His addition to the Authority will help facilitate numerous projects currently in the planning stages including re-decking of the Walt Whitman Bridge and other major capital projects at our three other bridges.”

Mr. Pulte is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pa., where he earned a degree in Marketing. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia Police Athletic League and Eagles Fly for Leukemia. Additionally, he is a member of the Villanova University School of Business’ Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate Advisory Council and CoreNet Global.
 
Mr. Pulte is married with three children and resides in Garnet Valley, Pa.

The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross bridges, PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
