Commodore Barry Bridge Travel Alert

Drivers are being asked to avoid using the Commodore Barry Bridge during the early morning hours of Saturday, June 27.  Between midnight and 4am on Saturday, June 27, the Commodore Barry Bridge will be closed to all traffic.

In addition, beginning Friday, June 26, at 9 pm, the right lanes will be closed in both the eastbound and westbound directions for two hours in advance of the entire bridge being closed to traffic.  All lanes should be back in service by 4am on Saturday, June 27.

The lane closures are necessary because of PENNDOT construction of ramps on the Pennsylvania side of the Commodore Barry Bridge.  Part of the construction requires removal of overhead lane light gantries.

Drivers should consider using the Walt Whitman Bridge as an alternate during the construction.

The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency.  DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, PATCO and the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal.  The DRPA also owns the RiverLink Ferry.
