Ben Franklin Bridge Lighting Supports Badges Of Honor 5k Run
DRPA CEO, John J. Matheussen, has announced the Ben Franklin Bridge on June 5, 6, and 7 will have blue lighting to support the annual Badges of Honor 5K Run and Walk.
The event was established to strengthen the relationship between Philadelphia’s Public Safety employees and the communities they service.
The proceeds are used to defray the expenses related to the death of heroes who have fallen in the line of duty.
The 5K Race/Walk will take place on June 6 at 9 am in South Philadelphia. It begins and ends at 11th Street and Pattison Avenue just outside of Lincoln Financial Field.
Matheussen adds the Ben Franklin Bridge will have the traditional red, white and blue lighting for Flag Day, June 14, and blue lighting for Father’s Day, June 21.
The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
