Ben Franklin November Bridge Lighting
Delaware River Port Authority CEO, John J. Matheussen, has announced the Ben Franklin Bridge in November will have special lighting to promote awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and efforts to help save babies from premature birth as well as celebrating Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving.
From November 1-2, November 17-26 and again from November 28-30 the bridge will have purple lighting to promote the Delaware Valley Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. Since 1989 the Memory Walk has raised more than $225-million to help fight Alzheimer’s Disease.
From November 3-10 and again from November 12-16 the bridge will have red and blue lighting to promote the March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Month. Prematurity awareness is an effort by the March of Dimes to help save babies from premature birth.
On November 11 the bridge will have red, white and blue lighting in honor of Veteran’s Day. And … on November 27 the bridge will have yellow and brown lighting to mark the annual observance of Thanksgiving.
The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
