Ben Franklin Bridge October Bridge Lighting

Delaware River Port Authority CEO, John J. Matheussen, has announced the Ben Franklin Bridge in October will have special lighting to promote Breast Cancer Awareness, mark a special police observance and celebrate Columbus Day and Halloween.

From October 1-12, October 14-23 and again from October 27-30 the bridge will have Magenta Lighting.  The DRPA is showing its support for the Philadelphia affiliate of the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

From October 24-26 the Bridge will have Red Lighting to mark “Red Ribbon Week”.  The Federal Drug Enforcement Administration commemorates this time every year to remember the murder of Special Agent Enrique (Kiki) S. Camarena who was killed in the line of duty.

On Columbus Day, October 13, the bridge will have the traditional patriotic lighting of Red, White and Blue.

On the last day of the month, October 31, the bridge will have Orange Lighting to mark the celebration of Halloween.

The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency.  DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
