Ben Franklin Bridge 5th Street Vehicular Tunnel Closure
On Monday, August 18 at 7am the 5th street vehicular Tunnel under the Ben Franklin Bridge, including the right side of 5th street adjacent to the U.S. Mint, will be closed to traffic for maintenance repair above the tunnel.
The tunnel and 5th street adjacent to the Mint is expected to reopen Friday, August 22 at 3pm. Traffic will be detoured to use the left side of 5th street to Race Street.
The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
