NJ MADD Honors DRPA Police Officer
The New Jersey chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving has selected DRPA Police Officer James Hartnett as this year’s winner of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Recognition Award. Hartnett is being recognized for having the highest number of DUI arrests in the Port Authority Police category for 2007.
Officer Hartnett will be recognized for his exemplary service by during an awards ceremony in New Brunswick on June 11th.
DRPA CEO, John J. Matheussen, says “I personally congratulate Officer Hartnett for a job well done. His actions not only reflect positively on him personally, but also on the entire Delaware River Port Authority Police Department.”
Hartnett joined the DRPA police in 1992 and has received 47 letters of commendation. He was named Police Office of the Month in 1997 and 2001 and Police Officer of the Year in 2001. Officer Hartnett is currently assigned to the Betsy Ross Bridge.
The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation and development agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross Bridges, and PATCO, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal and the RiverLink Ferry.
