Ben Franklin Bridge Closed Saturday, July 28 From 7:45 AM To 9:00 AM

The Benjamin Franklin Bridge will be closed to eastbound vehicular traffic from approximately 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, for the 20th Annual Tour de Shore. Westbound traffic will remain open. The bike-a-thon begins in Philadelphia and proceeds over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge to Atlantic City. Proceeds from the Tour de Shore benefit Philadelphia based children-oriented charitable endeavors. In its 19 year history, the Tour de Shore has raised awareness about local charities as well as monies approaching $1,000,000. This year's recipients are the FOP's Survivor Fund and the Daniel Faulkner Educational Grant Fund. The Daniel Faulkner Educational Grant Fund was established in May of 2000 to provide financial assistance to students whose parents have been murdered or incapacitated by a violent crime. The Survivor Fund provides college or technical school scholarships for children of Philadelphia police and firefighters killed or disabled in the line of duty. The PATCO High Speed Line will not be affected by the race.
