Ben Franklin Bridge Walkway Open Until 11 p.m. For National Bike To Work Week
DRPA CELEBRATES NATIONAL BIKE TO WORK WEEK BY KEEPING THE BEN FRANKLIN BRIDGE WALKWAY OPEN UNTIL 11:00 PM FROM May 14th to 18th The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA), in conjunction with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, is encouraging people to celebrate every mile. National Bike to Work Week starts May 14, 2007, and to encourage bike use, DRPA is keeping the Ben Franklin Bridge walkway open until 11:00 p.m. nightly from May 14th through May 18th. DRPA will post advance signs at the walkway entrance regarding the extended opening for further public awareness. On May 18th, the Bicycle Coalition is hosting a “Bike the Ben to the Ballpark Bash” which is a bike ride from Philadelphia to the RiverShark's home game at Campbell's Field in Camden, NJ. The Delaware River Port Authority is a regional transportation and development agency. DRPA owns and operates the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross bridges, the PATCO High Speed Line, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal at Pier 1 and the RiverLink Ferry.[ Return to List ]
