Ben Franklin Bridge Closed 8 to 9:30 a.m. On November 5 For Ben Franklin Bridge Challenge

The Delaware River Port Authority is proud to host the 12th Annual AmeriHealth Ben Franklin Bridge Challenge to benefit Larc School in Bellmawr, NJ, on Sunday, November 5 at 8:30 a.m. Registration is from 6:15 to 7:45 a.m., at the Rutgers-Camden Student Center, North 3rd Street in Camden. The race starts at the foot of the Ben Franklin Bridge in front of the toll plaza in Camden. Participants will run over the bridge and back and through the scenic Camden Waterfront passing the Tweeter Center, Adventure Aquarium, Campbell's Field, and the Battleship New Jersey for a total of 6.2 miles (10k). The race ends in the vicinity of 5th and Pearl Streets in Camden. The Ben Franklin Bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Sunday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. for the race. In addition to the bridge, the following roadways will also be closed to all vehicular traffic on Sunday, November 5, from 8 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. for the race: Broadway between the bridge (676) and Cooper Street; Cooper Street between Broadway and Delaware Avenue; Delaware Avenue between Pearl Street and Battleship Place; and Pearl Street between Delaware Avenue and 5th Street. The PATCO High Speed Line will run its normal Sunday schedule. NJ Transit's RiverLINE will be providing shuttle service from the Walter Rand Transportation Center to the Camden Waterfront. The Delaware River Port Authority has been hosting the Ben Franklin Bridge Challenge race for 12 years. For the last five years the proceeds have gone directly to Larc School. This year's run promises to be larger than ever, with more than 3,000 participants expected. The Larc School, a private non-profit organization, provides educational, therapeutic and recreational services to more than 110 individuals with severe disabilities from pre-school to adult students.
