Important Update for Senior Customers: Paper Discount Ticket Phase-Out; E-ZPass Senior Discount Remains

After September 30, 2025, E-ZPass will be the only way to receive the DRPA Senior Discount

The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) will no longer accept paper Senior Citizen Discount Tickets after September 30, 2025.

The Senior Discount Program transitioned to E-ZPass in 2008, and senior discounts are now provided only through an active NJ E-ZPass account. While the DRPA still receives a small number of old paper tickets each year, most senior customers have already moved to the E-ZPass program.

Customers holding any remaining paper Senior Citizen Discount Tickets may use them throughout the month of September 2025. After September 30, 2025, the tickets will no longer be valid for toll payment and will hold no cash or refund value.

The DRPA Senior Discount is available only on the Benjamin Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry, and Betsy Ross Bridges. The program offers a discount to senior drivers, 65 years of age and older, who have an active NJ E-ZPass account. Enrolled senior drivers using E-ZPass pay a discounted toll of $3.00 per trip, which is 50% of the current passenger vehicle toll.

Enrolled and approved senior participants will continue to receive their toll discount automatically through their E-ZPass account. Please remember:

  • Seniors must renew their application each year.
  • An active NJ E-ZPass account in good standing is required to remain eligible.
